Our mission is to help Speakers get educated on what the industry is like today. What worked 20 years ago does not really work in today's market. This industry changes yearly. What are today's Meeting Planners looking for? How have Events changed? We stay plugged in to find out what is needed to succeed in this industry. We update our current clients and educate our new clients during Orientation. We work closely with Meeting Planners to ensure success for both the Speaker and the Event.
WHY I STARTED THIS SERVICE.
When I first started my business in 2005, I spoke frequently at events, colleges and even taught classes at a local learning annex. As time moved on, I eventually phased out of the speaking side and moved into event planning. My company hosted many small business trade shows and networking events. I found myself on the meeting planning side-scouting venues, hiring Speakers, selling Exhibitor space and filling seats with Attendees. After a few years and some transitions in my business, I phased out of event planning and moved on to B2B marketing.
Being an Entrepreneur is NEVER a straight line: it's like climbing a mountain, enjoying the view as you go along.
After a life-changing experience, I decided to follow one of my passions and get back into Speaking to teach workshops and breakout sessions. I learned very quickly how much the industry changed in just ten years! It took me six months to learn the "new" process of finding events, how to apply, how to approach meeting planners now and how to create a follow-up system. It took some time but I created a system that could be done in as little as 5 hours a week. Which left time to run my business and continue to fill my calendar with paid events.
After hearing from so many other Speakers expressing their dismay with their Speaking Bureau and not having the time or knowledge to find engagements, I decided to start Book.Speak.Repeat. You see, as a Speaker I understand what the process is like. I know it can be frustrating, especially for those starting out. And also for others, like myself, who used to speak years ago and are now finding how the industry has changed SO much. My mission with this company is simple: to educate new and emerging Speakers on how to create a successful process and to make the process of finding and securing paid engagements easier.
No one wants to admit it, but getting booked on paid engagements is a numbers game. The more you submit your information the more you increase your chances of a conversation with a Meeting Planner. Here then is your opportunity to close the deal. These are the things we teach. Once you learn how to set up your own process, we can then help you with our submission services in addition to the process we help you create during one of our events.
The flip side of this, I used to be a Meeting Planner. I hosted an annual Expo many years ago called "Starting Your Business", in addition to smaller events. I know what it's like to have to get seats filled, sell the Exhibitor space and book Speakers, not to mention the logistics of the event. So I have experience on both sides. Education is the #1 item attendees look at when deciding to register for an event. However, picking a Speaker is less than 5% of what is on the Meeting Planner's plate. They may be looking for someone to teach a Sales Management workshop on their Sales Track, and they have their pick of high quality Speakers who CAN deliver great content.
You may be asking yourself, who is this person??? I will be the first to tell you, I am no one special, but I get booked. I have a great business and a few great topics I speak on. Amy Allen, Vice President of Operations
Amy is an HR professional by trade and Meeting Planner on a voluntary basis for a SHRM chapter (Society for Human Resource Management). It was through planning an annual conference for this chapter Amy met Kerry. Thus began a growing collaboration where Amy could bring to the table her talents, skills, and passions to assist Kerry with taking Book.Speak.Repeat. in an exciting new direction.
She earned her undergraduate degree in English from Texas Woman's University and her masters in Organizational & Human Resource Development from Abilene Christian University. Amy was Editor of her college newspaper, The Daily Lasso, in her senior year. In high school, she served as a staff member for their annual Literary Magazine, Commentarius.
In May 2019, Amy made the decision to leave her HR profession to pursue other interests, including writing and editing. This was the birth of her blog site, Just An HR Girl, where she presents her viewpoint on issues related to Human Resources as well as the world we live in and life in general. Ask her about skydiving in Norway or the many hostels in which she has stayed on her travels!
As an HR professional, Amy's passion was always employee engagement, which to her meant building authentic relationships with all employees. From the top down, engagement through company culture is an octopus with far-reaching tentacles affecting all facets within an organization. This is why Amy is steadfast in ensuring the needs of both the Speakers and Meeting Planners are met and addressed. This is the crux of her role with Book. Speak. Repeat.
Rilee Vo, Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator.
Rilee creates our magazine, ads and produces our podcast. She also handles all social media marketing and promotions. She first met Kerry when she was at NC State University looking for an internship to grow her skills. From there, she was given creative leisure to develop the Companies social media platforms and expand the online presence. Since then, she’s undertaken roles in marketing. She earned her bachelor’s degree at NC State University.
Rilee was part of many choirs during her high school and University years and even minored in the subject matter. In her spare time, she reads and writes in the hopes of one day publishing her own work and sharing her own stories.
